Annual music festival Lollapalooza is in full swing in Chicago, Illinois, with its second day of music acts getting ready to entertain people from across the U.S.

Lollapalooza Music Lineup

The second-day lineup consists of acts such as Childish Gambino, Bring me the Horizon, Janelle Monae, Tame Impala, Alesso and Rich the Kid, following the first day set of The Strokes, Chainsmokers, Hozier and Fitz and the Tantrums.

Saturday (August 3, 2019) will play host to acts such as Twenty One Pilots, Lil Wayne, Tenacious D, and Jonas Blue. Sunday (August 4, 2019) will see acts such as Flume, Meek Mill, San Holo, and well-known artists such as Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, and Ariana Grande. The female superstar will perform on the T-Mobile stage from 8:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Lollapalooza Map

The festival hours for today (Friday, August 2, 2019) are 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with the box office opening between 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. for ticket collection.

It is located at the intersection of Ida B. Wells Drive and Michigan Avenue, and ticket collectors will need a valid government-issued photo ID.

The entrance and exit for Lollapalooza are at the intersection of Monroe Street and Columbus Drive. A map of the festival site shows where all the stages are as well as services such as the "Cashless Tent," bars and cooling stations.

Children at Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza isn't just for the adults. Children who are 10 years old and younger will be admitted free of charge with an adult (who must have a ticket). There is a limit of two children per adult.

Kidzapalooza runs parallel to Lollapalooza and has all its own securely designated area at Grant Park. It hosts a range of family-friendly music on the Kidzapalooza stage, art & crafts, activities and much more.

Transportation to Lollapalooza

According to the website, The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has train and bus routes to Grant Park, throughout the city and to both major airports.

Metra's commuter rail system makes it easy can take guests to and from the festival via one of five downtown train stations within walking distance of Grant Park. It is also offering a $15 unlimited ride pass for Thursday and Friday and a $10 unlimited ride Weekend Pass for Saturday and Sunday.

If attendees want to grab a cab, the festival organizers recommend getting dropped off near the gates at Ida B Wells and Michigan Ave or Columbus and Monroe. For drivers, there is 24-hour parking available near the site at four Millennium Garages, which are security patrolled.

Lollapalooza Day 1 Wrap

The first day of the festival brought people from across the country to watch acts such as The Strokes and the Chainsmokers. Many visitors took to social media to give the rest of the country who couldn't attend a glimpse of some of the shenanigans at the festival site.

One Twitter user posted that a "fight" broke out during the festival at Perry's, which was caught live on ABC7 Chicago. Liam Capulet tweets: "Casual fight at Perry's in the background @ABC7Chicago #Lollapalooza."
