Hoe werkt de eco-modus?
Het doel van de eco-modus, of 'zuinige modus', is om de auto's te verbeterenbrandstof economieterwijl u rijdt. Je kunt de eco-modus in- en uitschakelen door simpelweg op een knop te drukken die je naast het stuur kunt vinden. Autofabrikanten hebben de eco-modusfunctie ingebouwd in veel moderne modellen van brandstofaangedreven enhybride voertuigen— elektrische auto's maken geen gebruik van de brandstofbesparende functie omdat ze niet op gas rijden.
Wanneer de eco-modusknop is ingeschakeld, wordt het gaspedaal van de auto minder reactief. Als het gaspedaal minder reactief is, werkt de motor niet zo hard en kunt u niet zo snel accelereren als normaal. De Eco-modus zorgt er niet voor dat een auto over het algemeen langzamer gaat, maar vertraagt wel de acceleratie. Het beste wat u kunt doen, is in een ontspannen tempo rijden met de eco-modus ingeschakeld - als u met een zware voet op het gas- en rempedaal drukt, kan het goede dat de eco-modus doet teniet worden gedaan.
